Position Overview

We are seeking a professional CDL-A Regional Truck Driver to operate out of the Rutland, VT area. This role focuses on consistent, home-weekly regional runs through the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic corridors, including routes along I-89, I-91, I-93, the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90), and the New York Thruway (I-87). You will haul dry van freight with no-touch loading, delivering on-time and safely while representing our late-model fleet.

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory)

  • Minimum of 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL tractor-trailer experience within the last 3 years.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) with a clean medical card.
  • No more than 1 preventable accident (any type) in the last 2 years.
  • No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years.
  • Zero DUIs or drug-related convictions in the last 5 years.
  • No failed or refused drug or alcohol tests in the last 5 years.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and road test.

Fleet & Equipment

  • All trucks are late-model, under 18 months old, with automatic transmissions.
  • Equipped with advanced safety systems: collision mitigation, lane departure warning, and in-cab telematics.
  • 60-inch sleeper berths with inverter, refrigerator, and satellite radio.
  • Trailers are 53-foot dry vans with sliding tandems and air-ride suspension.

Compensation & Weekly Scale

  • Target weekly gross earnings ceiling: $1,750 (based on 2,500+ miles per week plus performance incentives).
  • Pay structure: 58 cents per mile plus $25 per stop (average 3-4 stops per week).
  • Accessorial pay: detention, layover, and breakdown pay at $20/hour after 2 hours.
  • Safety and fuel bonus: up to $150 per week for incident-free and fuel-efficient driving.
  • Direct deposit every Friday; weekly settlement statements available online.

Home Time & Route Corridors

  • Home weekly: 34-hour reset at home every 7-10 days.
  • Primary lanes: Rutland, VT to Albany, NY, Boston, MA, Hartford, CT, and Allentown, PA.
  • Extended corridors: occasional runs to Baltimore, MD and Richmond, VA with guaranteed home time by day 8.
  • Dispatch windows are consistent: 0600-0800 start times, no mandatory weekend work unless voluntary.
