Class A CDL Truck Driver - Sandusky
Job Description:
Class A CDL Truck Driver – Sandusky, OH
This is a localized opportunity for professional Class A CDL drivers based in or around the Sandusky, Ohio area. We are seeking experienced tractor-trailer operators to run dedicated, predictable routes that keep you close to home while maximizing your earning potential. This position is structured for drivers who value safety, consistency, and a late-model fleet.
Why This Position Stands Out
- Regional and dedicated lanes focused on the I-80/I-90 corridor, including runs through Toledo, Cleveland, and into the greater Midwest. Occasional runs into Michigan and Pennsylvania keep you moving without long, extended periods away.
- Run our newest equipment – all tractors are 18 months old or newer. You will not be in a clunker. Each truck is equipped with modern safety systems, automatic transmissions, and comfortable sleeper amenities.
- Targeted weekly earnings are structured to sit around a $1,750 ceiling for drivers who hit their miles and stay on schedule. This is a realistic, achievable target based on current route averages, not an unrealistic top-out figure.
- We operate a strict safety-first culture. Your record matters, and we reward drivers who maintain it.
Core Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- Experience: A verifiable minimum of 3 months of Class A CDL tractor-trailer experience is required. We do not accept recent graduates for this role. Your experience must be documented and confirmable.
- Safety Gate: In the last 2 years, you must have no more than 1 preventable accident and no more than 2 moving violations. In the last 5 years, you must have zero DUIs or reckless driving convictions. Any history outside these parameters will disqualify your application.
- License: Current, valid Class A CDL with a clean medical card. Tanker endorsement is a plus but not mandatory for all lanes.
- Background: Must pass a DOT background check, pre-employment drug screen, and road test.
Fleet & Equipment
Every truck in this fleet is 18 months old or newer. You will be driving a late-model Freightliner Cascadia or equivalent, equipped with the latest in collision mitigation, lane departure warning, and onboard telematics. We do not run older equipment. Our maintenance schedule is aggressive, and every truck is inspected before each dispatch.
Health Blueprint & Benefits
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage starts after 30 days of employment.
- Company-paid life insurance and short-term disability.
- Access to a 401(k) with company match after 90 days.
- Wellness program including telemedicine and a 24/7 nurse line for you and your family.
Pet & Rider Policy
- Pet Policy: You may bring one well-behaved dog or cat with you on the road. We require proof of current vaccinations and a $150 refundable deposit to cover deep-cleaning costs if needed.
- Rider Policy: After your first 30 days of employment, a spouse, domestic partner, or dependent child may ride along. Riders must complete a brief safety orientation. This is a great way to share the road without sacrificing your home time.
Local Routes & Home Time
This is not an over-the-road position with weeks away from home. You will be dispatched from the Sandusky terminal and your runs will follow the I-80, I-90,
